CEWS Tech for Good

BRIDGING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE

Refurbished Laptop Program for Communities

CEWS Tech for Good initiative assists in providing refurbished laptops to qualified individuals and families in local communities. Enacted in August 2020 and funded by Stopwaste.org, CEWS has established partnerships with non-profits and community organizations to provide the logistics and workforce for 100% certified electronic refurbishing of donated laptops (complete with new case and battery). Our technology re-use partnerships with non-profits and community organizations help to promote youth education and adult job training opportunities

As CEO of CEWS, Yuet Kwai Lau has long envisioned helping organizations cultivate practices to reduce E-Waste and repurpose valuable materials to achieve greater environmental sustainability. Ms. Lau says, “Making a difference begins at home; that is why CEWS is reaching out to impact US residents with fully refurbished modern laptops that would otherwise needlessly end up in landfills causing substantial environmental harm. We are grateful to provide services to empower those in need with 21st-century technology at no cost to the recipient”.

Everyone can help bridge the digital divide for those less fortunate. Simply provide unneeded (or end-of-life) laptops and power cords to our participating non-profits for reuse in local communities.

Help us reach our goal of giving back over 1,000 free laptops to those in need in 2022.

We Keep CEWS' Tech for Good Simple

    • Donate laptops to participating non-profit organizations. Participating non-profits will designate which laptops will be sent to CEWS.
    • CEWS refurbishes the laptops to 100% capacity complete with Windows 10, MS Office 2010, a laptop bag, and a charger. (CEWS provides pick up and return logistics.)
    • Participating non-profits work with community associations to ensure that all refurbished laptops are distributed to local, qualified residents in need at no cost to recipients.
